Gladys Marie Walker Neel
of Endicott
Gladys Marie Walker Neel, age 92 of Endicott, New York and formerly of Butler, PA passed away and joined God on Monday, May 3, 2010 at the Ideal Senior Living Center in Endicott, NY. Gladys was born on October 15, 1917 and was raised in Saxonburg, PP. She graduated from Butler High School in 1935. She married Robert M. Neel in June 1949. Gladys was pre-deceased by; husband Robert M. Neel of Butler, PP; parents William H. Walker and Margaret Logan Walker of Saxonburg; father-in-law and mother-in-law Roy S. Neel, Sr. and Belle Neel of Butler; brothers Howard Walker of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and Dr. Homer Walker of Ames, Iowa; brother- in-law and sister-in-law Sam and Nancy Means of Harrisville; and sister-in-law Dorothy Neel of Butler. Gladys is survived by; son, Roger Walker Neel, daughter-in-law Beth Neel and step-granddaughter Angela Anderson of Endicott, NY. She is also survived by; sister-in-law Alice Walker of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; sister-in-law Donna Walker of Ames, Iowa; brother-in-law Roy S. Neel, Jr of Butler; a niece Jean Neel of Butler; five nephews and their families including; Roy Corso of Harrisville, PA; Dan and Shirley Corso of Butler; William and Carole Walker of Ohio; Kenneth Walker of Ohio and Douglas and Nancy Walker of Arizona; Gladys is also survived by many cousins and their families as well as hundreds of wonderful friends. Gladys has been a long-time member of Unionville United Presbyterian Church and was active in several service groups including The Grange and AARP. Gladys moved to Endicott, NY in 2003 to be near her son and his family. Gladys was a wonderful and kind-hearted woman whose love for her family and friends was endless. She would do whatever she could to make life easier and better for everyone she met asking nothing in return. Her smile would light up a room and her greeting of "Hi Honey" will never be forgotten. God has welcomed a true angel home. May God bless you Gladys. The family of Gladys Neel would like to thank Dr. Berkowitz and Dr. Crosby for the outstanding care Gladys received. And special thanks to the nurses and staff at Ideal Senior Living Center whose compassion and loving care were so much appreciated. We're so happy you got to meet Gladys. Words could not describe how beautiful and loving she was. You got to see that love every day. And also our heartfelt thanks to Deacon Maynard for his visits, his prayers and his comforting words.
