Weinermobile fundraiser for CHOW

Wienermobile visits the Southern Tier

October 27, 2010, 9:33 am

If the car next to you is sporting a bun and mustard, it’s because the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is in town for “Halloweenie.”

The Wienermobile will be at the Boys & Girls Club of Binghamton from 4 to 6 p.m. today. The “Hotdoggers” — or Wiernermobile drivers — will make Halloween treats with the children, and Binghamton police will educate youth on trick-or-treating safety. From there, the Wienermobile will head to Manley’s Mighty Mart at 429-432 East Main St. in Endicott from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

On Thursday, the Wienermobile will be at Price Chopper at 429-432 East Main St. from 1 to 6 p.m. On Friday, the vehicle will be at Manley’s Mighty Mart at 881 Front St. in Binghamton from noon to 2 p.m. and the Binghamton Senators game from 6 to 8 p.m. It will head to The Discovery Center of the Southern Tier from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Binghamton’s Halloween parade at 2 p.m. and the Binghamton Bearcats Soccer Game from 6 to 8 p.m. On Sunday, the Wienermobile will trick or treat for canned goods to donate to CHOW.

During the stops, bring a canned good to donate to the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse and you’ll be entered into a drawing for a spin in the Wienermobile. Visitors will be able to get a sneak peek inside the vehicle and participate in activities for prizes. Proceeds from a hot dog sale will go to CHOW.
